Polyurethane integral foam system is a two-component system (A+B). A mixture of polyether polyol with organic foaming agent in the form of hydrofluorocarbon and with additives ensuring the properties of the finished product constitutes component A. MDI-based prepomyler with a strictly defined content of NCO groups constitutes component B.Component A is mixed with component B in a certain proportion and then it is poured into a mold in sufficient quantity in order to ensure the desired properties such as hardness and elasticity of the finished product. Through the proper selection of catalysts, we carry out the reaction in a controlled manner in terms of characteristic times as well as de-mold time which determines the efficiency of production. Integral foam is used wherever high flexibility of the product and high resistance to mechanical damage are required. Integral foam name of is derived from the words “integral skin”, that is the skin which is an integral part of the product. To put it simply, in the process of manufacturing a finished product, a flexible core and hard, impact-resistant skin of the thickness up to several millimeters are created. Integral foam is most commonly used to manufacture items such as bicycle saddles, arm rests, automotive filters and flexible elements of playgrounds. |
